From playgroups in schools, gender equality to first time parents group, there are great things happening in our current projects. We endeavor to make the playgroup experience as insightful and enjoyable for all, and are always open to innovative ideas about what happens in playgroup.
All Come Out To Play!
Delivered with humour, dancing and enthusiasm All come out to play! is a session that helps children learn about respectful relationships and equality. There are songs and games, lots of exciting toys to play with and it is good for people who are still learning English as well. The session encourages girls to be strong and confident and boys to seek help when they need it – it has a message of equality and respect for everyone.
PEEP LEARNING TOGETHER PROGRAM
PeepLTP supports parents to understand more about how children learn – and to do more of the things at home that make a difference to children’s outcomes. Intended for parents/carers of children aged birth to school-age, it can be used to communicate concepts and ideas with parents about how to enhance the home learning environment and can be used with parents in a variety of settings including playgroup, one on one, and groups.
Move it For Kids
The MOVE IT 4 KIDS program supports young children to feel enthusiastic about exercise and movement. Comedy meets music, meets movement while encouraging good habits, in the most accessible way possible. Children of all ages are inspired while developing fine and gross motor skills, language skills and social skills.
Australian Research Center (ARC) Linkage Project
Playgroup Victoria is the Industry Partner with the Australian Catholic University for this Research Project. This project aims to identify the range of practices, processes and policies in playgroups-in- schools that attend to both strong bonding and bridging relationships for the enhancement of parental capabilities about play. The outcome of this project is a Best Practice Framework generated from the project findings. The Best Practice Framework is intended to inform the provision of playgroups-in-schools as an innovative form of early childhood integrated service delivery.
First Time Parent Group Transition Project
This project was undertaken to establish an approach to provide support to MCH nurses to encourage parents to continue to meet as a playgroup after the completion of their first-time parent group. Resources have been developed and piloted in 8 sites across the state. Playgroup Victoria is working with the department of Health and Human Services, with a view to roll this out across the state.
