Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need to be a Playgroup Victoria member to book training?

Your membership fees support our training services. Although we welcome non members to attend the training, the opportunity to book workshops is a Playgroup Victoria membership benefit.

Why is training not free to Playgroup Victoria members?

The actual cost of each training workshop is heavily subsidised by your membership fees, government funding and grants. We try to keep costs to a minimum to ensure training is affordable.

Why do I need a minimum of eight participants for a workshop?

We find that a group of at least this size is necessary for effective networking and information sharing. If you have difficulty getting enough people together, try contacting other playgroups or your local council to see if you can partner in running or promoting the workshop.

Why can't I bring my children to the workshop?

While the topics often centre on children, workshops are designed as a forum for adults to openly discuss, information share, reflect and plan. As much as we love children, we need to maintain a learning environment that is effective for all participants.

Why hasn't there been any training in my area?

Where and when training is held is determined by members who book workshops. If you would like to  organise training in your area, please contact us to discuss your training needs.
