Playgroup Victoria is starting new fathers’ playgroups in Victoria in 2010 as part of the ConnectDads playgroup project.
The aim of ConnectDads playgroups is to connect fathers to their children, playgroup, community and to physical activity.
A ConnectDads playgroup could be a playgroup session at an existing playgroup and use its facilities as a base. It can meet however often works best for the group and might as well meet at public places like swimming pools, parks or gardens.
ConnectDads playgroups can also be started at new venues, independent of community playgroups sessions. Only three families are required to start a ConnectDad playgroup session.
Everyone part of a ConnectDads playgroup receives free Playgroup Victoria Family Membership which includes public liability and personal accident insurance cover. Each group will also receive a Playgroup Victoria active play pack and Crayola pack to help it get started. No funding is available to facilitate ConnectDads playgroups.
Playgroups in all corners of Victoria are invited to express their interest in starting a ConnectDads session.
