Bushfire Recovery Project

Playgroup Victoria is being funded by the state government's Victorian Bushfire Fund to manage a new Bushfire Recovery project to resume funded work begun in April 2009 after Black Saturday.

The municipalities of Murrindindi, Mitchell, Whittlesea, Nillumbik and Yarra Ranges have been scoped to determine community needs and how Playgroup Victoria can best support families, playgroups and agencies in these areas.

The project will provide direct service and build the capacity of community workers and services through partnerships.

Direct service will be provided to families and playgroups from the Playgroup Victoria mobile play bus and therapeutic play.

Training on the importance of play will be offered to empower and strengthen the capacity of children, families and playgroups as they continue to recover from the impact of the bushfires.
