Programs
Playgroup Victoria has been committed since it first began in 1974
to providing all Victorian families with access to playgroup through
programs designed to provide the best possible services.
Most families join community playgroups. In recent years other kinds
have started so that the needs of families not attending these
playgroups can be met.
Playgroups formed under the Supported Playgroups and Parents
Initiative target families from disadvantaged backgrounds and isolated
areas.
Intensive support playgroups aim to meet the needs of families with complex needs.
PlayConnect playgroups are for children with ASD like symptoms.
MyTime facilitated peer supported groups cater for parents of children with a disability or chronic medical condition.
FaHCSIA supported playgroups cater for families with high needs.
A number of projects, including the bushfire response project, began
as a response to a need in the community that called for action.
