Karen Harvey Collings
Chairperson
Joined in 2006 as Secretary. President since 2007. Full time mum to
Emily, Matthew and Charlie. Married to Ian who supports her in every
way. Attends Boeing Reserve Playgroup. Registered psychologist. Masters
degree in organisational psychology. Professional background in project
management, organisational behaviour and change management consulting.
Rachel Murphy
Vice chairperson
First elected in 2007. Full time mum to preschoolers Jack and Sam.
Part time public servant and a passionate supporter of playgroup and
contributing to the public good. Past president of Elwood Community
Playgroup. Sits on the Playgroup Australia Board. Undertaking a masters
in public administration. Married to John who along with the mums at
Babes in the Wood Playgroup, makes all this possible.
Margie Brett
Treasurer
Joined in July 2005 as Treasurer. She and her partner Chris have two
children, Chloe and Gemma. Previously co-ordinator of Berry Street
Playgroup where the passion for playgroups began. More recently
involved with Essendon Playgroup and also a member of the St Andrew’s
Kindergarten committee. Accredited instructor in tai chi. Degree in
finance, CPA. Professional background in senior finance, process
improvement/ cost efficiency and project management roles.
Bronwyn Clarke
Secretary
Joined in August 2008. Became Secretary April 2009. Mother to
Malcolm and Charlotte. Public servant with BSc and Diploma in Frontline
Management. Actively involved in local playgroup for five years
including role as treasurer.
Vivian Savvides
Appointed member 2008-2010
Joined as an Elected Member in 2003 and 2004. Vice President from
2005-2007. Mother to two adult boys. Formal education in urban planning
and early childhood education. Playgroup facilitator and play leader in
the Glen Waverley area since 1995.
Rebecca Middleton
Appointed member 2007-2010
Appointed for her regional, membership and HR expertise. Married to
Scott with three school-aged children, Sarah, Jack and Rachel.
Background and professional focus in agricultural related fields, both
rural and urban. Current position is project based contract work.
Kate Carpenter
Elected member 2009 - 2010
Joined in July 2009. Mum of two active preschoolers, Eric and
Alyssa. President of Goonawarra Bilby's Playgroup, Sunbury where she
discouvered the importance and value of playgroup. part time human
resources consultant within the tertiary sector. Formal education in
Arts (History and Political Science) and Business Management (Human
Resources).
